At Auth0/Okta I was the Tech Lead on the IAM Organizations team for 5+ years, with a dedicated Engineering Manager handling the people-leadership half. In a small engineering org those two roles are usually one job, and at that scale combining them is a more natural fit than the specialised seat I held at Auth0. I help small teams set up what quietly determines whether they hold together: clear ownership and responsibility, communication norms, documentation that survives turnover, hiring and onboarding, code review culture, and team rituals that catch problems early.
